Die Pope Benedict XVI, Die...

I have a certain belief in a certain kind of god. So do you in case you do not know it (some of you do not even know what you believe in yet!). Now in my belief there is no objective good or bad or right or wrong but still a person close to me slandered my beliefs! What is wrong in thinking that every one and every thing on earth is equal from a creation point of view?

Alot seemingly, that is why sick bastard Pope Benedict the lots of numbers thinks that it is his place to say that homosexuals are as bad for the planet as deforestation!!!!! You thick fucking idiot Benedict.... So by my reckoning if there is wood from the rain forest used somewhere in the Vatican then the Vatican is as bad a the gays too... yeah that seems right... how about you go around on all 4's you pleb and find out if your pompous throne was bought in Ikea or was it in fact made from the finest wood available with was probably from the Amazonian rain forests at the time... while your at it, look into who cut down the tree that the throne is make of and see if the planted a special new "popes chair" tree in its place.

It is not right for a leader to make such stupid comments... clean up your own sick vile seedy disgustingly male oriented sausage club back yard first. Oh yeah and when your finished beating the young and the homeless and the poor and vulnerable over the head with that book in your hand have a look through it, its called the Bible... it teaches about love and respect. Something things you really could do with a lesson in...

Is it a boy or a girl?

So we are expecting a new baby. I was trying to figure out if I would prefer a girl or a boy. There is a rational to my wondering and it is as follows. I think a lot of people believe that, as I believe, there is a special relationship between a mother and daughter and its own special relationship between a father and son. By special I mean potentially highly explosive. Girls understand women and boys understand men. Eventually they will begin to disappoint each other and that is when the fireworks start. Of course things will calm down again as they all get older but I have seen some same sex family battles that would make a Viking warrior shiver in his furry boots.

Now, my situation is that I already have a daughter. So, while I accept that hell fire will surely rain on me from above from some time in our development, I am just as sure that we shall both apologize shortly afterwards and it will soon be water under the bridge. But what if I have a boy... then I know that our rumbling volcano of a relationship could go off any time. And it is a whole other type of warfare. Man versus man.

I know it’s kind of cruel, but if we have a second girl I know that whilst there will be pain at least it is the same kind of pain and I am perfectly ok with that. Of course with either a boy or a girl all this is still around a decade away, but sometime I like to psychologically prepare myself in advance.

My Religion: Part 1

"Cogito, ergo sum" (English: "I think, therefore I am")

The first and most basic question is when you talk about god, or God, is the following: Does God exist?

Let me address that first. Yes. It is that simple. For you to believe anything other that than the fact that God does exist shows that you are in some way believing in some cartoon reality where the laws of physics are different to our current laws in this universe.

I believe that there is a creator of the universe that we live in. But there is no difference between the creator and the universe. The god I believe in IS the universe. My logic is as follows, we do exist somewhere. In some form. Now according to our logic if something is here, it came from somewhere. As the old latin saying goes "ex nihilo, nihilo est", or "out of nothing comes nothing". See this link for more on this sentence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ex_nihilo But why do I think that the universe and god is same.

The way I reason it is to say that if god and the universe are different, then what made the god that made our universe? So then another god is "made up" to explain the first god. So then you have the situation where you realise that it is illogical to talk about a number of gods and you have to stop it somewhere. When you stop making up gods is when you accept that we were made by something but that the something is the same as the universe.

Let me explain a few of my terms at this point. By universe I mean the universe we live in, that also includes a possible multiverse and or parallel universes. If you understood what I was saying up to now then it should be pretty clear that I do not think that god is a man, or a woman for that matter. God is not loving, or unloving. Also, nothing can be said of god. Nothing. Nothing becaues the god I am talking about is outside the frame of our logical reference. As my hero philosopher Wittgenstein said "Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent"(click on the link for more information).

A few points come from this that are interesting.
  • All of us are ultimately exactly the same as everything else.
  • All of us are made up of one thing: god.
  • There is no objective "good" or "bad". How could the one thing be good and/or bad at the same time!
So this is it. Cast your eyes away from your monitor. Look around you for a moment. This is your universe. This is your world, your whole existence. There is no heaven, no hell. There is no good or bad. You can do nothing right, you can do no thing wrong. What you perceive as your "life" is currently the molecular and chemical configuration of the collective amount of atomic soup you call <insert readers name here>. There is no afterlife. You were never born nor will you die. You will simply cease to exist in your current form.

And don't worry... you will be missed.

I'm getting a SIX PACK!!!!!!

Lets do this post as Discovery Channell as possible. Here goes...

A body. I have one. You have one. Your body is the most amazing thing you will ever own. I think you have to agree, and if you do agree, then the question has to be asked. Why do so much of us treat our bodies so badly...

(Attempt at sounding like Discovery ends here)

I weighed myself before writing this. I weigh a little over 16 stone. That is 105kgs. Pretty "heavy" I guess. So what I am going to do? I am going to get fit and healthy. My aim is to loose so much body fat and to tone my muscles so much that I am going to develope a six pack. There are two reasons that I am going to do this, the first is that I simply always wanted to have a six pack, strange as that may sound. The second reason is that I am going to use it as physical measure of fitness. I plan to live a lot of years. Really I think that in the future as medicine progresses that we will live longer. Thing is, if you never care for your health you will live to be 70 years old. You will know that you are going to live for another 40 years and your already assigned to a wheel chair.

Now is the time to act on the future. Knowing that the way I treat myself today will have a knock on effect for the next 80 to 120 years I am simply getting in shape. There is one other thing, I think that men should be alot more vain. You see girls, women, and they make so much effort in looking good, exercising, putting on make up and all the rest. Well then least I can do is get healthy. So I plan on getting fitness magazines, muscle magazines and cutting down on crap food and simply exercise more.

So when is the deadline, hmm, sometime around next March. Yep, that is along time away. But that is a reasonable time. Diets aren't successful in a week, or a month. I will keep you posted along the way, weather you like it or not.

Vista: How do i hate thee, let me count the ways...

If anyone knows me at all, they know how much I love Bill Gates and Microsoft. And I have been around computers long enough to know how Microsoft, for example, make it easy for the common man or woman to use their computer... no more setting up sound cards, no more choosing your graphics card, devices have become plug and play and people who normally couldn't even turn on a PC before this are now surfing the net and buying crap of ebay.

So what happened with Vista? Seriously what the hell happened? I have vista on my main PC at home and it really is crap... now i hate usually when people say "vista is crap" because they might have heard some retard reporter in the Sun say so, but in this case they would be correct. Here is a small list of things that Vista makes worse....
  • Connecting to the internet
  • Run games slower... run the same game on the same machine with the same hardware but have vista on one and XP on the other and vista is around 10 or 20 frames per second slower...
  • i tried to hook up a sony camcorder to vista, didn't work, but it worked no problem on xp, and just for the record, i had ran the vista patch...
  • map maker for Call Of Duty 4 will not work on Vista...
  • basically when you do ANYTHING at all technical AT ALL on vista, it asks you if you are sure that you want to carry on.... and they, Microsoft, call that better security. you can just click yes that you are sure you do want to carry on and the program keeps on loading in... HOW IS THAT SECURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • my god, i nearly forgot.... THE SEARCH.... the search... my god the search....... how the hell can i find what i am looking for? it is impossible to find anything using the search window. why did they break it...
  • Also, the start button.... personally i find it alot worse that the previous one on XP

Now before one of you say "but the game or the programs and drivers have to be written for vista specifically", which would be a good point, i have to say, crap, if a program runs on XP it should run on Vista at least. that is the least i expect from software of one of the worlds biggest software company with their flagship product. anything else is lazy crap programming.

The whole thing here is, why? why did they have a totally excellent working operating system, ie - XP, and f*&k the whole thing up? You know of course what is going to happen, maybe not this year, but probably the next, google will release an operating system, or the next google on the horizion will.

Why? Microsoft you are throwing it all away...

Who here knows what an IBM 360 Mainframe is?

When i ask my little girl what Microsoft is when she is older, will she know?

My Carbon Footprint

Am I bad?

You know what I like, I like to walk into a room and turn on all the lights. I like to turn on the computer and leave it on all day. I like to have the television on all day too. I like to randomly turn on the water heater just in case I would like to have a shower.

The only thing that stops me leaving everything on all the time is that it costs money. I never think about my carbon footprint. I believe that in the future all of our energy problems will be solved by advances in funsion power or something.

Someone one might say, "What about the children...?"

What about them....

Living In Oblivion

My favorite PC computer game is definitely the Half Life series. I have played all of the half life games, well all of the official ones. There might be some mods that some HL fans think are a part of the game, but I am satisfied I played all the game so far... btw, word around the camp fire is that Half Life 3 is in development!!!!! :)

But onto my point. I just finished the technically brilliant Crysis. Now, while it was good, I found myself kinda just playing it, like, as a pass time. With Half Life I was engrossed in the whole game, the story, the characters. All brilliant. Would I find that ever again?

Enter Oblivion. I think that I have just played something like 0.5% of the game or something so far, but how brilliant. To me a very good game is when I am doing something, anything, in the day and I find myself thinking of the game I am playing. To me if the game you are not playing is not like that, then leave the game, there are plenty games out there that will do that to you. But Oblivion is definitely like that. I wish I could take a week off and ONLY play it. At least with Half life you could play a little chunk and you would feel like you did something. But with Oblivion, I feel like I have to play a few hours in a row to get proper satisfaction.

Now, I have to get to work, so I can finish, so I can come back here again and play some Oblivion. To those that do not know Half Life or Oblivion I have added links below, take a look at them, they will give you a good idea of what I am talking about.

Schwarzenegger is Jesus

Whilst looking at "Last Action Hero" something very dramatic occurred to me.... Arnold Schwarzenegger IS the second coming of Jesus! So the next Jesus that will come along will be the Third coming, but that is a whole other issue.

Schwarzenegger is pretty much indestructible, he can be shot at, cut up and blown up. Still he lives on.
He can travel through time, as we have seen in multiple films, Terminator etc. He loves children and all man kind as we have seen in Kindergarden Cop. Also we know that he is here to save man kind. That is pretty much what he does every film.
He also had pretty much the catch phraze that the first Jesus had too, "I'll be back...."

Superman and Spiderman...

I am looking at Spiderman on channel 120, UKTV Gold, on crap NTL. Hear that NTL, if I had enough money I would buy the company and sack every last member of staff and give them all a no thank you letter with the words "The Nazis thought they were correct too!" written on it.

Anyway, back to Spiderman and Superman. Anyone ever wonder why they were both working for newspapers?

Bill Gates no longer the richest man!

Bill Gates, as the title would suggest, is no longer the worlds richest man... this to me is really sad. Why? I don't know really, you think it wouldn't really make a difference to me how rich anyone is. Thing is about Bill Gates is that I heard about him around about the same time as I starting taking a real interest in computers to the two have a kinda pavlovian response thing going on. Hearing his name and thinking about his money makes me happy.
So Who is the riches man now at the moment then, Warren Buffett is the richest man on the planet. Who is Warren Buffett? Check out his wiki page here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_Buffett

He has written a few books, but I read one that he wrote in a day and a half. That to me is really quick, it was called "The Road Ahead". http://www.amazon.com/Road-Ahead-Completely-Up-Date/dp/0140260404 I loved it and I would advise people still to read it.
He is still worth something like 25 billion dollars, he owns more than that so that is a conservative figure.
With about 7 billion people on the planet. It means that Bill could give $3.86 to every person on the entire planet and still have some change left over!
If Bill wanted to spend all his time playing Pac-Man, assuming each 25¢ game lasts 10 minutes (he isn't very good at it), Bill could play for 1,936,514.02 Years
If Bill Gates were a country his wealth would make him the 76th richest country. Just above Sri Lanka and just below the total GDP of Bulgaria $26 bn.
The 3 facts above were taken from biographyonline.net. If you want good information on Bill Gates however, you should check out his wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates

Metro Sexual Confusion

I was in Dublin today with Little and we went into a shoe shop to find some nice footwear to suit her new dress. I find the whole shoe shopping thing very tiring so I did as I always do and I sat down on the conveniently placed chairs that they have around the shops to sit down on while you try on shoes. While staring vacantly around the shoes I realised these Addidas shoes that looked kind of cool. They were the brand with three stripes as always but were multicoloured and had loads of different patterns on them.
Thing is, at the back of the shop were ‘Men’s Shoes’. So if I, a man, wanted shoes in this predominantly female footwear orientated shoe shop I would simply walk on down to the back of the shop and get some shoes from this section. Then I noticed this guy stopping to look at these colourful Addidas runners, and I was like, aren’t they women’s shoes? The men's are down the back of the shop only, these shoes are in the middle? Then another guy paused while walking past the shoes and I realised, yeah, I guess they could be worn by the correct kind of funky dressed guy. But these shoes were definitely beside women’s. Who were they for? They guy looked at them for a moment, and then kept on walking.
So what was this? Metro sexual confusion? Do men no longer know what is ok for them to dress in. even worse, do men know themselves what they themselves want to dress up in. Personally, I am past all that. To be honest I was never really in that. I always wore pretty normal, boring I guess, clothing. I know what I like to wear, I wear it and give very little thought to my wardrobe. But I pity the man who gets up in the morning, looks at what he is wearing, thinks about who he is going to meet later on in the evening and dresses accordingly for the rest of the day.
There is nothing wrong with this of course, it is just that it is another layer of confusion and stress added on to day to day running of yourself. I know that I can’t wear pink shirts, I can’t do much with what little hair I have left. I know this because I give this much though during Desperate Housewives ad breaks and drinking my lattes and sparkling bottled water imported from Italy. I have to admit though that I get worried when I hear myself talking in my mind and I remind myself of Carrie from Sex And The City writing on her laptop. Maybe I am more metro sexual that I first cared to admit. Now, I wonder if those shoes come in a size 11?

The Reality Of The News

There have been a few times where I have clicked on a news article only to realise that I have been hit with a paywall. I don't mean thi...
